Friendship is akin to love!		        Gan Fu Le, a new Chinese patent medicine for liver cancer,  was developed by Professor Pan Minqiu, a famous international scientist, as a project in the  “Task of the Nine-Five-Year plan and China Traditional Medicine International Exchange Center”.     The pharmacological properties were developed and studied by  respected agencies, such as Hunan Traditional Chinese Medical Academy,  Shuguang Hospital, Affilated Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medical University (Clinical Pharmacology Center of Ministry of Health of China), Hunan Tumor Hospital, Biotechnology and Medical Research Institute of Chinese Medical Science Academy and Tianjin Medical Science Research Institute. Clinical results evaluated in 488 patients with primary hepatocarcinoma showed that Gan Fu Le can enhance immunologic response and has evident anticancer effects. who were administered this drug had higher survival rate and better life quality, alleviation or subsidence of symptoms with improved appetite and well-being. Besides, the tumors masses did not grow or were gradually reduced as compared to those who were treated with radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy. The effective rate of the medicine was 74.55% and the total responsive rate 78.7%. These data are superior to the best results reported in the world literature. The results also showed that this drug has been highly effective in treating patients with acute or chronic hepatitis (hepatitis B), hepatic cirrhosis, ascites, breast carcinoma, and other malignant tumors of the digestive system.
    The research project for Gan Fu Le is a task of the State Traditional Chinese Medical Administration of China, one of "Spark Plan" of Hunan Province, and has been assigned by key scientific and technical personalities in the Eighth-Five-Year-Plan.The articles were published in national and international journals and praised by experts at home and abroad. Gan Fu Le won gold medals at the Mexico-Chinese Exhibition of Applied Technique and Product Trade of 1992, at the First Commodity Trade Fair of South China and at the 1994 Chenghdu Superfines of National Spark Plan. It was also awarded a prize for scientific and technical progress by the State Traditional Chinese Medical Administration. It also received the Golden Award for International New Technology and Product Exhibition in 1995. This product won the First Class Award in the estimation of "Eighth National Five-Year Program".
    Gan Fu Le is the product recommended by the Health Center for National Liver Disease. For his brilliant contribution, Professor Pan was awarded in 1993 the title of "Eminent Person" by the Center of Eminent Persons of Cambridge and that of "Prominent Expert" by the State Personnel Ministry of PRC in 1995.
    Gan Fu Le is a compound prescription of traditional Chinese medicine. It is manufactured using an advanced process with more than 20 kinds of selected genuine medical products, including Radix Codonopsis, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, Radix Bupleuri, Carapax Trionycis, Herba Patriniae, Lignum Aquilariae Resinatum, and Rhizoma Paridis.

Description: white sugar-coated or film coated tablets with brown core 

Aroma: fragrant

Taste: bitter and slightly acrid.

Pharmacological Action:

Usage and dosage for liver cancer:

          Typieal Cases

Hepatocarcinoma

1. Mr. Wang, 65 years old, Changsha Hunan province. Diagnosed a primary hepatocarcinoma, Alphafetoprotein(AFP) 7500ng/ml, space occupying lesion of 5x6cm found in his liver by ultrasound. Has been taking Gan Fu Le for 11 years; still survives.

2. Mr. Li, 52 years old, Xinshao, Hunan province. Admitted to a local hospital for rupture of liver and hemorrhagic shock, a perforation of 5x3cm2 found in the right lobe of liver during exploratory laparotomy; rupture was repaired.The departmemt of pathology reported a hepatocellular carcinoma. After administration of Gan Fu Le, general conditions and appetite soon improved and abdominal distension alleviated. Resumed his work 10 months later, survived for over 8 years.

3. Mr. Fang, 57 years old, Xinshao, Hunan province. He suffered from primary hepatocarcinoma,a space occupying lesion 6x8cm found in liver during a CT exam, AFP>500ng/ml, pain in hepatic region, anorexia and abdominal distension, ascites, bed-ridden .After taking Gan Fu Le for 15 days, abdominal distension alleviated and ascites cleared dimished, hepatic pain subsided and appetite improved. He was able to walk freely.

4. Mr. Hu, 60 years old, Hongjiang, Hunan Province. Primary hepatocarcinoma dignosed, AFP 1000ng/ml, a space occupying lesion in the liver seen at CT in April,1987. After taking Gan Fu Le for 4 years, he still survives.

5. Mr. Qiang, 70 years old, Xi'an, Shanxi province. In March 1984 his AFP was found > 1000ng/ml and continuously strong positive after different kinds of treatment. After taking Gan Fu Le for 15 days, his AFP began to decrease and reached normal level 3 months later.

Stomach Carcinoma 

Mr. Zhong, 34 years old, Ningxiang, Hunan province. He suffered from carcinoma of stomach, dysphagia, and could only have liquid diet. After taking Gan Fu Le for 6 days, his appetite improved and pain obviously abated. He was able to eat rather easily.

Esophageal Carcinoma 

Mr. Du, Changsha, Hunan province. He suffered from advanced esophageal carcinoma of about 17 cm in length, dysphagia, and chest and back pain. After taking Gan Fu Le for 7 days, the pain was obviously relieved and he was able to have a soft diet.

Rectal Carcinoma

Mr. Li, Quanzhou, Fujian province. After an operation for rectal carcinoma, he experienced abdominal distension, ache and anorexia. After taking Gan Fu Le for 3 days, the appetite was improved and the abdominal distention and pain were relieved

Subacute Hepatic Necrosis

Mr. Li, 34 years old, Shaoyang, Hunan province. In January1990, he suffered from severe hepatitis; icteric index of 80 units, repeated bleeding from the upper digestive tract, poor general conditions. After taking Gan Fu Le for 3 days the hemorrhage stopped, the icteric index decreased within 14 days, the jaundice disappeared after one month and liver functions returned to normal within 2 months.

Hepatic cirrhosis with Ascites
